3 Stupid Simple Ways to Increase Business Growth

Are you struggling to grow your business from 0 to 100?

You have probably done much work, asked for help, and made some difficult decisions last year.

Getting your business to the top isn’t like growing flowers. It’s hard.

Well, welcome. This post will show you ways to increase business growth by applying simple ideas you can do every day.

This post won’t take longer than the time it takes to prepare a cup of coffee.

This isn’t about marketing strategies or social media marketing or any of that. It’s about a general mentality you can apply to all business areas.

You are likely applying some of it already, but you haven’t thought about them.

Let’s start.

3 Simple Ways to Increase Business Growth

There’s this famous parable about how bamboo grows. In the first few days, it grows in inches. At this stage, it is easy to tame the tree, bend it or cut it down. Then, in 60 days, the bamboo will shoot for the sky so high and strong that no one can reach it.

It’s the same thing with the ways to increase business growth. You start seeing little to no results, but suddenly things change, and you’re shooting for the sky.

These are simple ideas that will help you in this journey.

#1. Start listening to or reading people who have done the same thing before

I mean, it’s right to think you are unique. Your idea is the best that ever existed, or you want to create something no one has ever thought of.

The downside is creating a business no one cares about or a product no one wants to buy.

In this age and time, you need to listen to people who have walked the same path. It helps you verify your ideas, give you insight, and assists in managing some problems your predecessors have overcome.

Who should you listen to:

  • People who you want to become
  • Your competitors
  • People who are like you in a lot of ways. Some of the profound interviews I have watched are those of people who had the same color, nationality, and job as mine. This isn’t the best because you feel connected to the person.

If you are trying to grow your business with content writing, listening to experts will equip you with tips and best practices in the industry, especially as a beginner. Then, with time, you can make excellent and smarter decisions.

2. Improve something by 1%

This idea is one of the proven ways to increase business growth.

A coach called Brailsford uses it to bring the British cycling team to success, a remarkable feat because the national team has suffered 100 years of mediocrity.

Brailsford had been hired to put British Cycling on a new trajectory. What made him different from previous coaches was his relentless commitment to a strategy that he referred to as “the aggregation of marginal gains,” which was the philosophy of searching for a tiny margin of improvement in everything you do. Brailsford said, “The whole principle came from the idea that if you broke down everything you could think of that goes into riding a bike, and then improve it by 1 percent, you will get a significant increase when you put them all together.”

James Clear, Atomic Habit

I like the idea of breaking things down into their fundamentals.

Let’s use marketing as an example.

Let’s say you’re a small business owner and have been working on your marketing for a while. First, break down everything that drives marketing success into smaller bits, then improve it.

This thought can lead you to improve your business website or blog posts. What can you improve by 1%? Your answer can nudge you to write better headlines or change the intro of a blog post with a high bounce rate.

Lately, I have been revisiting my old post and see what needs improvement. It doesn’t have to be something grand. I can just tweak the headline or a paragraph.

You can do the same with your small businesses. Break all the parts that bring success, and think of a small area you can improve by 1%.

Not 10. Just 1%.

Then continue to do that every day for the next 30 days, by which you would have improved that area by 30%. In three months, you would have improved it by 90%.

But before you start, you must clearly define what you want to achieve. For example, rewriting my headline will improve readability. If the goal is to bring more visitors, working on how I distribute content is a good start. So, asking yourself what you want to achieve is necessary.

This might seem slow if you’re looking for how to grow your business quickly. However, all the work will compound at a point and put you on fast growth.

3. Do things better or different than your competitors

See your business and your competitor as two singers in front of a judge at a talent show.

What can you do to impress the judge?

First of all, it all depends on the judge himself. You can’t impress someone without ticking the boxes that will score you points. So, do your research.

In this analogy, your customer is the judge.

As a business owner, this is where you dive into psychology, customer research, and competitor research.

The knowledge of these things will lead you back to production or creation. So keep asking yourself, how can we make better impressions?

A good example is the iPhone Vs. Samsung phone comparison. Is one better than the other?

Look at them logically. You will see that they are doing things differently or trying to outdo each other regarding features and brands.

And it’s healthy competition.

If a user is tired of how your competitors treat certain features, you automatically become the next brand in line to consider. And that’s a win.

Other examples abound.

Are you tired of how your high-end cars consume fuel? Benz? Ferrari?

There is Tesla.

People who are tired of Netflix will try Amazon prime or Hulu.

Doing things differently is one of the effective ways to increase business growth. It’s something you study hard if you want to know how small businesses can increase profit.

So what makes a business successful?

It’s more than these things, of course. But with effort and a good business idea, you grow your business.

So, those are 3 stupidly simple ways to increase business growth. You can start using them today.
